Editing my profile? What do these options actually mean?

Hi everyone, these questions might sound a bit silly. When you have opened your community profile for editing, what exactly does Jabber mean? What about AOL IM, and ICQ?
I should probably know the answers but I'm actually a bit confused. Thanks!

Those are chat programs. So if you use those programs and want to be available to chat on them, you would put your ID in those fields.

Jabber is another chat program, open source, and it predates AIM, Skype, etc.

I get that but what about the "my coop" option? What is that?

You can link a pic of your coop in your postbit by putting the pic in the "my coop" option. You can also put pics of your chickens, etc. there. The words "my coop" will then be visible, and clickable, in your postbit. If you have a BYC page, you can put that link there as well. To create a member page, go to learning center (in the brown strip at the top) then click on "member pages."

You may need a few more posts before you can do these things, in order for our system to recognize you. This is one of the ways we help protect our members from spammers.
