I still go back and forth on these two EE. Some days they look like a roo and other days no so sure...maybe pullet. I posted them a couple a weeks ago and the consensus was out on them. I am hoping that we can get a little more insight, but am thinking you all are going to tell me to wait a couple more weeks. I look forward to your thoughts on these two. Thanks for your help.

EE # 1

Head Shot....got a little flesh where her comb should be....some days I think there is some pink other days not.

EE#2

She has muffs and here is her head shot. She has almost no flesh where her comb should be just smooth tight skin over her beak/nose

Please tell that these two don't already have an appointment with Andy the Ax.....Randy the Rooster already does:(

Here's the deal - - - at 7 weeks we should be able to tell. You have taken some really good pictures, but they are so small I can not see what I need to see.

I tried to click on them to enlarge them and that doesn't work. Somebody needs to tell me how to make the pictures BIGGER.

My EE's have a lace pattern that makes their feathers look pointed when they are really rounded. I need to enlarge the pictures big enough that I can look at the details of the saddle and hackle feathers. I think this may be what is going on with chick # 1.

At 7 weeks - - the pinking of the comb is not enough of a clue.

I'd say girls. Combs are really small, and they are colored like pullets. Hackle feathers are almost always pointy for EEs, hen or roo. But only roos will have the long sharp saddle feathers just infront of the tail. So the feathers look round. Also, my EE at that age that was the same color had a larger and much more pink comb than your 2. Though it was still small. (But she's a definate pullet by 10 weeks)
