I have 3 almost 14wk old EE/Buff Brahma X's that I'm on roo watch for. EE mom, BB dad. I have scoured pics from both breeds, but it hasn't helped make a determination.
I know the BBs are slow growers and wonder if this will affect how soon I can tell the difference. Just what all is slower?
No crowing so far, but I have no older roos for them to go by. They all still peep/chirp.
All have long tail feathers, but the tail feathers on a lot of the feathersite pics of EE are long in both sexes. So that doesn't help.
None of them have wattles yet. Are BBs slower to develop theirs? Do all EE and BB roos get them?
Comb wise, I think 2 pea combs. The comb on the third doesn't fit any of the types as near as I can tell.
On the BBs I get the slower to mature in that more like 6-8mnths for an egg vs 4-6mnths on other breeds, but what else is affected? Do all roos have wattles? Should I see some hanging by now?
Thanks for any info.
