EE/Delaware cross?

What do you guys think of an EE/Delaware cross for a meat bird? If you guys think it sounds like a decent mix, I might ask my friend to whom I gave my Dellie hens about buying some of their eggs to hatch. Her roosters are an EE and "my" baby boy Turnip (Silkie).

If the parents weigh over 6 lbs, I'd go for it.

I'll have to ask... I know the one Dellie she has left (the first one died unexpectedly a couple months ago) was the bigger of the 2 -- Blanche... I remember her being super heavy and she loves to eat. (Is that a Dellie thing?

) I'll have to ask about the rooster.

Oh, and do you think an EE/Dellie rooster would have acceptable temperament? My Dellie boy was super sweet until last December, and I have no idea what made him turn mean. I haven't had any experience with EE roosters.

Temperament is usually inherited. You can have a nice or a mean roo of any breed but you'll most likely get a nice one from a nice papa.
