EE, hen or roo?

Hi, this is Brunhilde, one of the 5 chicks we got from McMurray billed as 'Auraucana/Americana." So I'll just call them EE because I am confused as to the breed specifics and assume they are mutts since they come from a hatchery. (right?) Anyhow, she has different coloring from the others with a much darker head, and is also larger. Could she be a roo? next to her her in the first pic is 'Opal," who is a very funny off-white and copper color, a very funny hen too. Anyhow, any hen or roo thoughts welcome. S/he is 7 weeks old here.

Okay, thanks! I bought females but with 25 in a batch figured I would get a roo or two.... so we have a 'rooster of the day' candidate, which my husband teases me about no end. I have finally decided all the White Rocks and Australorps are girls but this was my last holdout! Any other thoughts out there? And am I right to just call them EE, not Araucana? They do have little tufts under the ears but I don't know how much variation of color there can be (this one with a black head, two others brown with brown heads, and then there's crazy dishwater Opal....)

She will perch on your arm, and is one of the picnic table offenders if we have dinner outside. I'm waiting for her to jump up on the baby's high chair (where they have quickly learned there is plenty of snacking to be done). I guess it's time to start putting the babies back in the fence at dinner time!! But not before I get some hilarious photos.

They look like Easter Egger pullets to me. That's funny that you named her Brunhilde...I have one named that also...she lays a green egg almost every day and is just over a year old now. =)

Ha - I have a Brunhilde too! (She's a Columbian Wyandotte.) Your EE pullet looks quite similar to one I have - such a pretty, sweet bird!

Look like pullets to me...From what I have read the brown color is almost always a pullet. I have 7 EE that I have been trying to sex myself.
