EE owners

We have two in our laying flock. Dora started laying at 7 1/2 months, and Muffy started about three weeks ago, which makes it about 10 months. It seemed like forever, and I actually thought that Muffy was laying brown eggs, but as it turns out, the brown eggs were from the undeclared (possible closet rooster) hen that started laying late, as well. One lays beautiful mint-green, the other, is an olive-egger. We have three more in the brooder and it will be interesting to see what they lay and when. I am hoping that they lay sooner, as we got them much earlier in the spring, so the days will be getting longer for a longer period of time in their development, if that makes any sense.

'got my first green egg last wednesday at 29 weeks. Yesterday I got two green eggs.
Today I got a greenish blue egg. I have 4 EE's.. at least two, possibly three are now laying, 5 days since the first gren egg.

My EE hen hatched August 10, 2009 and laid her first egg on February 15, 2010

I don't think they are ever going to lay. I'm pretty certain they are not laying brown eggs - on the weekends I peak in the nesting box throughout the day and have never caught them in there.

My EE were 39 and 40 weeks when they laid their first eggs! But it was well worth the wait. I have one who lays a bluish green egg w/ small brown specks, her egg is long and narrow. My other one lays a more greenish egg--It is very large and almost round! They make the egg basket look great..

My EE started laying at 21 weeks. At first the eggs were small-sized, but now hers range from large to X-large! They are a beautiful sea-foam green sometimes, other times almost pale olive. Her shells are very thick, which sometimes makes them difficult to crack!

Ours was about 20 weeks old...and she has been a great layer. She lays almost one a day...varying from 5 to 6 a week usually. It's easy to keep track of because she's our only EE hen. Our other ladies lay brown and white eggs.
