I picked up this EE chick a couple weeks ago from a local farm. I was told it was hatched by a local 4h club. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what color it is? Is this silver? I've tried to find pictures of chicks like it but only find black and white ones not gray and white. Also, am I right in thinking it is most likely a pullet? Thanks

EEs don't really have color varities or color names. Because they dont really have a standard, they are just mixes. Some people call ones that look like this (pictured at bottom) partirage (spelling?). Silver is a color ameraucanas come in. And it is really, to young to tell if it is a oullet. If I had to guess I would say pullet, but like I said it is still young.

Thanks... I know they aren't a true breed so no standard, was just wondering what they gray color was called as I assumed it wasn't just called "gray"... was asking about gender because I know certain patterns show up in one gender vs. the other

Opps I forgot to post the picture

O and I forgot to add. EEs are suppose to resemble ameraucanas, but they can really turn out to be whatever color. They are suppose to lay blue pink or green eggs, Have beards or muff, have a pea comb, and they usually have green or slate legs. And on the bottom of their feet the skin should be yellow. Now hatcheries are starting to venture away from these "expectation or guidelines". Its not like ameraucanas where they have a standard they have to meet or they are no longer considered ameraucanas. I read through what I wrote and it is kind of confusing, but it is the best way I can think to explain it.
