So mother dear and I just had a funny little debate...
lol.png
.... I mentioned that when I have a little farm I want to get a bunch of blue-eggers and sell organic blue/green eggs for $4 - $5 a dozen... and she says people wouldn't buy blue eggs! She said most people have trouble eating the brown eggs and think they're weird, let alone blue eggs! If I ate eggs, which I dont, but if I did, I would love to have blue eggs! They would be fun and they are so pretty to look at! So, its up to you guys to settle the debate now... Do you think people would buy blue eating eggs? *sniff*

Its true! you go to supermarket here and they have brown eggs and white eggs.......brown egg stack is always higher.
I love brown eggs myself...really do! but I would feel weird cracking a blue egg to cook..........

i used to eat eggs. now i dont, but when i did i ate white, brown, and green/blue. and they all taste the same. i have heard that the brown ones are heathier for you. but if you find the right buyer they shouldnt care what color the shell is. a egg is a egg in my opinion. good luck with selling them when you decide to!

You cant help it mother dearest! You were raised hanging upside down!! Its not your fault!!

I sell eggs at work to pay for feed. It was my goal to have a colorful carton. My customers LOVE that there are dark brown, light brown, pinkish brown, cream, white, aqua, olive egger. I have an order of chicks coming in May that will give me the really dark dark shells.

I'm getting 20 eggs a day average and still have more customers than eggs right now. I sell them for $2.00 per doz. and include 2 duck eggs in each carton.

The going rate for free range eggs in my area are $4-5 per doz.

I raise Ameraucans and Marans just for the eggs to sell and eat. I dont sell white eggs.

They are tan, blue, chocolate and olive and people love them.

I sell my eggs, and I have a few people that ask that I don't put any green ones in! I only have brown and green! LOL!!! People are funny that way, my neighbor and my SIL won't touch my eggs with a ten foot pole!

My customers go 2 ways:

1-they don't care.
2-they are OBSCESSED with the rainbow egg selection.

I have had a few people not want to buy eggs because they thing non-white eggs are weird. Their loss.

For my customers who love the colors, I point out the INSIDE of an olive egg is blue, while the outside is green. You'd think they'll faint from the joy of it.

I give my eggs to friends and coworkers and they LOVE the mix of colors. I haven't sold them, but do plan to soon. I think it's about where you sell them ... maybe farmer's market would work best. I would certainly buy a fun mix over white, but then I wouldn't buy store bought anymore
