Egg bound Button Quail, may be prolapsing. In distress now.

Palpable egg with lethargy. Vent ripped with tissue disruption and blood. just tried massage of abdomen. Then warm water and massage. Nothings working. She can still be saved, but wont tolerate much more. Emergency. rural area. no vet accessable.

I'm not sure, I hope someone can help soon. Epson soak to reduce swelling is all I can suggest

She and the others have been laying daily. no problem until now.

It's an emergency. She can still make it, but my window of opportunity is closing fast.

Can you feel the egg? Make sure you're keeping her warm. Do you have some vaseline that you might be able to coat her vent with? That's the extent of my knowledge, I'm afraid.

Yes I can feel it and its big. Starting up heating pad now. on my lap. Ive got olive oil, Ambesol gel, silcone hair oil. no vasaline.

Just found neosporin gel. Best I can do as far as a lubricant

The egg feels really large. It seems the only thing to do is break it, but dont want to spill the contents into her abdomen.

Just applied the neosporin gel to vent.
