my Almost 2year olf ISA Brown has pretty much lived on the nest today (she's not broody)

She hasnt eaten all day, shows absolutely zero interest in any food, including cooked egg and bandsaw dust.

I took her off the nest at one point, and she just stood by the waterer and drank for 20minutes, before heading back to the nest.

I wormed, and dusted the flock 2days ago. Yesterday I found a reject egg on the floor of the coop, which I cracked and fed the birds. It wasnt hers, wrong colour.

What could be wrong with her? I've felt around her back area as best I could, cant feel anything there. Her butt is pasty and poopy and gross, but it's 99% dried. When she tried to poop earlier all that came out was a tiny amount of water.

Please help, she's tired, thirsty and not eating, and Im pretty convinced she wont be alive tomorrow morning.

I wonder if it has to do with the worming and dusting you just did. Perhaps she somehow got too much of one of the treatments, or is allergic to one of them. You could try Benadryl -- chemical name is diphenhydramine -- it's a pretty innocuous drug, commonly used for allergies, sometimes sold as a cold medicine. I'd probably give half a 12.5 mg tablet but don't know what the chicken dose is (you can give people at least 100 mg, probably more.) You might also do some research on whatever you used and see if there is an antidote for overdose.

It's a very good sign that she is drinking; she can go a while without eating if she drinks. You could slip a pinch or two of sugar in the water to give her a tiny bit of nutrition, or try a very liquid food, maybe watery oatmeal or even watery feed.

Good luck.

The problem is that she cant poop because of her pasty butt. Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut away the dried poop feathers and fluff, clearing her vent area. Then, check her rear area for lice/mites.

Thats not a problem... I've gotten my fingers very yucky having a look back there, and the feathers are clumpy under her butt, there is nothing sticking together around the actual hole.

ddawn: I've used both treatments before, Im wondering if its because I did both at the same time?

It's possible -- but there certainly have to be other possibilities. You haven't mentioned what you used, or really, given a lot of information. This thread is old enough now that it's probably not allergy if she hasn't changed. If she's still the same you could just wait and see. You could also answer the questions in the sticky at the beginning of this forum and maybe we can pick up on something.
