Egg Bound Quail

My quail hen has an egg in her. It’s not protruding out but I feel it near her cloaca. At first I thought she was going to lay soon but it has been a couple of days. I’m very worry about her and really want to help her. I read that soaking her in warm water would help her.

She doesn’t seem sad at all. She’s been eating and drinking like normal. I keep her cage clean. And she plays around like always.

It supposed to be her fourth one. She laid her egg a couple of hours ago. It’s very soft actually. There’s no shell. Does this mean she’s lacking in calcium?

Yes, get her some budgie calcium and grit.

Only her 4th egg? Her reproductive system is probably just getting adjusted to laying eggs. Young 1st time layers sometimes have this happen, if it becomes a regular thing than there's something else going on with her that should be looked into.
Calcium citrate is a good source for quick calcium replacement. Vitamin D3 is also needed for calcium to be absorbed into her system.
