egg boxes and young chickens

I have chickens that i have moved into the coop they are 3 weeks old I put some perches and branches around and some are getting up in the nest boxes and hanging out there. Do I need to block off the next boxes? Will it cause problems when they hit the age to start laying eggs if they are using them prior to that age?

No, it won't cause problems when they start to lay eggs.

If they sleep in them at night, that can cause the problem of them pooping in the nests and dirty eggs. Chickens like to roost high so make you nests lower then the roosts.
