We just gave them to her on Wednesday night and she is doing a good job setting. She's a little bigger than a banty but not much and I got these eggs from some friends with roosters. Today I went out to check on the nest while she was out for her 15 minute constitutional to eat and drink, one of the eggs had broken. The shell was stuck to one other egg and the yolk was in the nest. She had cleaned alot of the broken shell out and I picked up as much as I could without disturbing the eggs too much.
This is her first time to lay on eggs and my first time as an expentant chick parent! Should I clean out the nest when she's off tomorrow? I would hate to throw her off, since she's doing so well. But I have been battling ants in the her house, but since I put out new ant traps they have all but disappeared.
Any help/guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!
