Hello!

I am on day 7 of incubation.

Some of my eggs are red and veining by the air sac, but the egg is vacant towards the pointy end. What does that mean? Is it a dud??

Also, there is an egg with two black dots RIGHT underneath the shell. Is that a baby that got detached and is dead??

Thanks!

Red Veins are good and they don't go all the way to the bottom (at least it is hard to see it anyway) The black blobs may be the eyes (?)

Just leave them alone until day 10-14. If they are bad you will usually be able to compare to the good ones and tell. Most bad ones look much more "clear"

Sometimes a chick starts to form and then dies. It takes practice to be able to know and then I still worry. But if there are tiny red veiny lines that is a great sign.

Yeah I'll try to wait. It is so hard though!!

debiraymond: I studied those eggs on the sticky (which are so cool!) and they don't look quite like mine. It is still undecided...
