Egg cartoon

Ok I have figured out that some of you use egg cartoons at the end of your hatch. Can someone explain and give me results?

Im trying the carton this time. Never tried it before, but this is a new bator that at least I might keep it cleaner. I have one that just pip about noon time, so it wont be long.
