we got our first egg today! I have seen on here that people do different things to clean their eggs and when and how to store them but can't remember most of them. please help!

also there was some white stuff on the egg not sure if it's poop, it's dry. you can see it in the pic could this be a first egg thing? the egg was nice and hard and a good size to!! came from our BR... also is this how big the egg should be? here is a comparison to a large store bought egg.... THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!

Pullet eggs are smaller and will get bigger with time. It takes quite a while. I have also had that white stuff on a few but don't know what it is. I just washed it off.

my hens started laying mid July, with all the reading here is what we decided on....
*pointed side down
*wipe off any poo but don't wash - takes the "bloom" off, which helps to keep the egg good for up to 3 weeks!
*refrigerate after a week
I read one person kept eggs for 6 months & was confident with using at that point! The incredible edible egg!!

Or it could be a wet down feather
