Egg collecting question

I'm going to put a couple hens together with my rooster but they have been with around other roosters. How long do I collect their eggs before I'm sure they have been bred to the rooster that I want them are with, so I can incubate them?

Most people say about 3 weeks.

I have heard that a hen can be fertile for upto a month after she is with a roo.

Other will say 3 weeks but everything I ever read is 30 days. So I would say atleast 3 weeks but to be safe you can wait the 30 days too.

4 weeks to be safe unless you don't mind a few mutts
