How often do you collect the eggs from your coop, every day, twice a day?

Also what did you add to your coop to make egg collecting easier, would you change it or add a different style if you could?

Does anyone on here use egg collecting nesting boxes? Do you like them?

Do you have a door right by the nesting box? Does this bother the chickens?

What happens if you forget to collect the eggs one day?

I would collect twice a day especially in the summer! In warmer weather the egg will germinate sooner and the chick will start to develop in the egg...Also it can just start to go bad with warm temps if it is an infertile egg. I would not want to crack an egg that has been in the heat for a whole day. If you are wanting to brood the egg you will need to put it directly in the incubator if it has warmed up...Once a chick starts to develop to much cooling after the process has begun will kill the embryo.

I'm not planning on having a rooster so I don't have to worry about to much of that :) but I didn't even think about it sitting in the heat all day...gross.

How do you collect them from your coop? do you have a little egg hatch/door or do you go into the coop

We collect our eggs at least two times a day, and have had to have multible locations for them to lay, we have a walk in coop and the other laying box is in my workshop, they had liked to lay the eggs in many different places there so I built a box for them and they utilze it.
