Egg Color and spots

Over the last few weeks one of my Black Copper Maran's eggs have been getting lighter and lighter. Today the egg is light and spotted. Should I be worried? My girls are

8 months old.

I heard that black Copper Marans lay in spurts, & egg color can change abit. But they do tend to get dark again.

Yep, dark layers do that.
Beginning of season will be dark then lighten along the way.
After molting and winter rest the egg will start out darker again.

Nope, all the above is incorrect. Your Marans just morphed into a Welsummer.
Just kidding of course. My FBCMs do the same thing. Sometimes they will be speckled and sometimes not. They will get lighter in color as the season progresses. Here’s a pic of mine compared to a Welsummer egg I got this morning. Usually my FBCM eggs are closer in color to the Wellie egg. Not today though.
