I recently acquired 8 khaki cambells and every day they are cracking open one egg in the duckhouse before I let them out.
They don't even appear to be eating it, that I can tell. My current theory is that one of the ducks has developed a habit of cracking open her egg after she lays it. I do not like this behavior, and I'm planning to get down to the bottom of it and end it.
A part of me has the fear, though, that all the other birds will learn from her and it will take over the whole farm!!!

Does anybody have any btdt for me?

I feed a good amount of high quality feed in addition to their free-range lifestyle on a big ole pond in here in slug-abundant Oregon.
Perhaps the family they came from (a week and a half ago) wasn't supplementing their diet with a feed other than free range? Or something along those lines?

What else could be the cause?

Thanks,
Dana
