My pen of egg eaters have been cured...permanently. It was way too hot to fire up the grill, so they went into the saute pan with onions and peppers. They were about four months old and seemed a little tough. For eating is it better to do so earlier. What is your experience/advice?
 
no offense, but might you have overcooked them, quail don't really need to be cooked like chicken(aka dead...as dead can be). it can get tough
 
crock pot if they are older the 10 weeks some folks kosher them or brine them a little is good 2-5 hours too much can make them tough
