Ok here’s what happened…
I have 2 incubators going. 1 for the “these are for sure good” and 1 for the “I can’t see well and not sure if it’s developing”
About a week ago I had an egg explode inside my “unsure” incubator. My husband removed it before telling me and I figured by the time I realized all the eggs were donezo. Well… my stupid brain thought “let’s just leave them until hatch day and see.”
Now it’s hatch day (my other incubator started hatching 2 days early) and 1 of them is in the “oops” moving!! But I didn’t clean out the incubator or anything. I honestly thought they were all dead. I didn’t watch my humidity closely either. I kept it on the last day thinking I’d clean it out and use for hatched chicks but right before I went to do it I saw one rocking.
What do I do?? There’s got to be bacteria in there. Will the chick be sick? Should I move it to the other incubator to hatch? Ahh! I made such a huge mistake I feel like an idiot.
