So my hens seem to actually be hens (laying eggs), even the one that chases the male and I was worried was just a late blooming rooster. I think she’s just an independent lady that doesn’t particularly like the male in her pen, she’s not aggressive with the other hens but chases the boy off the second he even looks her direction. He’s a very busy boy with the other girls but can’t get near Blue, any chance she’ll lay fertile eggs (I’d love a few more Blau birds and she’s only 1 of two) or chill out in a few weeks?

Update on this, grouchy hen just beat up the boy, he lost a few feathers and was pretty silky but otherwise fine. Do I move this chick into my mafia pen (a group of rather assertive Italians!) where no doubt she’ll get picked on or leave them as is? I’m moving the mafia outside in a few days, maybe the change in scenery will ease the transition? Anybody else ever deal with an extreme feminist quail? I definitely need to film a soap opera!

It won't hurt to do a fertility test. You can do this either by setting her eggs with the rest in the incubator and candling to see if any develop or crack a few open and look for the bullseye that shows a fertilized egg.

As long as there are no injuries, I'd leave her as is.
