We are hatching out very first eggs and just did our last candling, day 17. Just wondering if all looks right with air pocket and all.

Thanks for the help

The air cell does seem a little small but otherwise it looks like the chick is filling the egg and you can still see healthy blood vessels. In the next couple of days the air cell will drawn down significantly as the chick turns to get into position to hatch.

Ooo! I'm hatching some too!! Whens you due date? Also what humidity do you have inside of your incubator? The air cell looks a little strained..

I don't use a candler like that, I just use a flashlight and hold the egg up. It's hard for me to see exactly how big that air cell is from that angle. The air cell doesn't have to be precisely one size anyway, some variation is OK. To me that egg looks great, I think you are OK. The bottom of the egg is filled with chick, the air cell is distinct on top.

Let us know how it goes.
