ok Barred rock started laying about a month ago and gives me an egg just about daily although they are little more than fart eggs to double yoke extra larges. Her buddy the white rock is 2 weeks younger and I never see more than 1 egg a day so I assume they are all the BR's. Well this morning before sunrise I went out to let the girls out and collect the egg my daughter forgets 50% of the time and there is one in the box like usual and a medium size one I darn near stepped on in the middle of the yard. Do you think it safe to assume the one egg in the yard is the WR and her inexperience just dropped it in the yard? I am sure the Orp is not involved in this as her eggs are white and the other are brown. Can I expect more in the yard? I have had at least one laying hen when I've added younger ones so usually everyone gets it right and lays in the nesting boxes, never in the yard.
