Egg incubation

Need some help. I think my hen had set on eggs for about 5 days before i got my incubator. Do i count those 5 days when determining approximate hatch day? Or do i count from the day they go in the incubator?

If your hen was setting on them consistently, day and night for 5 days, then yes - you do count those days because they were being incubated for that amount of time.

Thought so just needed to verify.....new to chickens......so excited.....sizzle chicks in the incubator!
