egg laying and cheer squad

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!! We finally got our first egg and two days later a second one. (They are so cute and so little) It was so funny as Merle was on the nest and Mary and Betty were standing at the door making so much noise like they were a pair of cheer leaders. I have never heard anything like it. One of my neighbours stuck their head over the fence and asked did I have a rooster in my midst. I have never heard so much commotion in my life. I definitely will know when an egg is getting laid if that goes on every time. I am hoping they will quiet down once the novelty wears off as I am sure my neighbours won't be too happy about it.
