Egg laying?

We have a hen who we think is trying to lay an egg for the first time, she has been sitting for a couple days, but now she is laying on her side and hasn't moved for 24 hours, is that normal? We are new at this and not sure. Thanks!

My one laying hen doesn't take too long to lay her egg. She has never laid on her side and not moved. I think you might want to change the title of your post to get a quicker response.

I would also suggest changing the name of your post and putting it in emergencies. I don't know what could be wrong, but it sounds like it may be more than working on an egg. There is a set of questions at the top of the emergencies threads... if you copy and paste it into your post it will help people help you.
