Hello,
I was wondering if having a rooster in with my hens will increase, decrease or have no effect on the number of eggs that are laid daily. I have one rooster with 23 hens and he is constantly
breeding them and I think it is starting to affect the egg count.
Thanks!

Rooster or no rooster it doesn't matter for egg count. Could there be other things going on to mess with your egg counts??

Hi Candus,
I have not made any other changes with them, it just seems that rooster is harrassing them constantly. It is starting to get warmer here, but that should only increase the eggs I am getting. Do you sell your extra eggs, or do you just get enough for your family. I have standing orders for 9 dozen a week at 1.50 each.
Thanks,
Dave

rooster or no rooster.he has no affect on the amount of eggs the hens lay.
