I am a very long time advocate for the only complete food in the world--eggs, and the most complete food for humans! I became a member due to an earlier post requesting evidence of the "healthy" benefits of Egg Lands Best. I could not determine if the request was ever answered. I would like to know if the eggs being produced and marketed as offering better nutrition were ever fertalized and the subsequent chicks would be healthy? My guess is that the diet used to produce those eggs and chickens would be with reduced hatch-ability and otherwise less healthy. My interest in eggs deals with their potential to prevent many of the chronic diseases and disorders affecting humans. In particular the neurological disorders. I have just completed a study of more than 500 autistic children and determined that 43% fed no eggs, 93% fed less than one egg or egg yolk per day and 98.4% fed less than two per day. I recommend two to three per day, regular eggs, not modified that have made them less healthy.
I have compared the composition of healthy brain tissue to more than fifty foods and no food compares to egg or even egg yolks to prevent the sixty nutrients known to be deficient in autistic's better than eggs. Eggs have been demonized now for more than fifty years and I find them to be the healthiest food and would like to see the per capita consumption increase by at least four fold from 250 per year or less than one per day, to three per day or 1100 per capita. I have written two books on autism and "The Miracle of Eggs" and if there is any way I can help to get the truth out about the real benefits of this super food please let me know.

Welcome to BYC and I look forward to hearing more from you. My neice is autistic and my MIL has always lamented the diminished nutrients in the food we eat today. It makes sense. Thanks for joining us!

Hi Harold, and welcome aboard!

I totally agree with you about the lack of nutrition in the Standard American Diet. I'm sure that it's the causative factor in many, many of the diseases we're suffering from in this country. My husband and I eat a massive amount of eggs, and my father commented on it, asked me if I wasn't afraid of all that cholesterol. Uhhh, no. Not even slightly concerned. Eggs are all natural, have everything needed to form a complete LIFE, and they are real food. Not processed, not "enriched", not scary at all.

So, related to your comments on autism. Are you saying that you believe that autism "happens" after birth, and not before? I'm relatively ignorant of the disorder, but I have read some stuff in the past about the nutrition of the mother during pregnancy having deleterious effects on the unborn child. It's been a while, but if memory serves, the research was done on indiginous populations who had only just begun to eat a more Westernized diet. Off to search for that old and very interesting book...

Anyway, it's great to meet you, and I look forward to your upcoming posts.
