Egg pride?

We've noticed that almost all of the eggs we get from our hens are moved to the front of the nest. Seems like the hens are moving them there, as the nests are recessed and when they sit to lay them, they are in the back corner of the nest. My wife thinks they are proud and are pushing them forward to show off (only 2 of our 9 hens are laying right now). Does this sound plausible?
 
More than one hen is "probably," using the same nest and as they lay, one hen moves the other hen's eggs forward.
 
I agree, hens are not normally associated with the desire to show off the young'un till they hatch. But you never know........
