Hello everyone.

Brief background- I have 7 1 year old (and 3 months) hens and just got 2 more 16-17 weeks girls. Since I added the new girls, my egg production went from 5-6/day to maybe 2-3 at most/day. It's got to be something with the new hens, my thinking anyway.

They have plenty of food and water.

The newbies took a few days to adjust but are being tolerated just fine. They are "allowed" to eat and drink. The only difference is that all the older hens sleep on the perch inside the coop. The new girls sleep on the perch outside the coop (in the run) or are the top of the ramp going into the coop.

Also a side note, I have pine shaving inside the coop and the girls NEVER go in there except to lay and sleep...no droppings, nothing....since the newbies, the pine shavings are torn apart inside the coop, someone's been scratching or re-arranging.

Stress always causes a drop in egg production.
Adding new pullets is a stress to the hens. They need more time to acclimate to the new comers.

How did you do integration/introduction?
How big is your coop and run in feet by feet?
Dimensions and pics(inside and out) might help here.

Are both groups going into the coop?
Is the feed and water inside or outside the coop?
