Egg Progress

This is my 2nd time incubating eggs, last year used eggs from my flock and all 6 hatched!!! well my flock got sick and they all had to be put down it was very sad. I have disinfected the coop and have been waiting all winter to try again. Just wanted to get someone's opinion on the progress of my eggs today is day 14. I have 10 eggs incubating that I order and it looks like 4 will hatch just want a little reassuring before I discard the dud eggs.

Only those dark ones are developing. You should be able to see some movement too.

I agree... it looks like the dark ones are the only good ones... but it is HARD for me to toss eggs!

So I smell them.

If there is no stink, there is no risk of them exploding, so they get to stay longer.

However in your case... only #3 would have me hesitate. It looks like a late death.... but if it doesn't stink maybe it is just slower to develop (low chance... but i hate to toss)

2, 4, and 5 look very close to hatch.

The rest... eh... even i would chunk those. (And 8 looks like it might want to explode)

Thanks for the responses!!! I discarded the bad eggs today. none of them smelled, and when I cracked them open they had not developed at all, so as sad as I am about having to toss them at least they did not grow at all.

So hopefully the 4 will hatch in a few days!!!
