Egg Question

Hi everyone...I have a question for you all. Can you all tell me if you all eat the first eggs layed by your new chickens? My girls are finally starting to lay and of course we are all so excited about this but my husband seems to think we should discard the first eggs and wait for the constant flow of eggs before we eat them. Any thoughts? Is it safe to eat the first eggs ever layed?

I have been eating "firsties" for about 2 weeks now. They are great. They are really good if you need like 1/2 egg for a recipe or just want a small egg. I think they are really cute. The smallest one I have ever gotten was the size of a marble, and I didn't eat it.
