Some people have no shame.

Was selling my pickup years ago and got a call from this guy who really acted like he wanted to buy it.
Waited all day for him to show up. Found out he owned a used car lot and had a pick up just like mine he was trying to sell and had dropped the price to under cut me in the local paper.
Hubby went and checked it out and it was nothing but junk. Guy found out who he was and ordered him off of his lot.
Guy went out of business not long afterwards.

This type of thing has been going on since Bible times. Proverbs 20:14 says "It's no good, it's no good!" says the buyer; then off he goes and boasts about his purchase."

I don't mind folks making a profit because they're industrious & will take the time to re-sell things they bought from me, or if they're clever enough to see more value in something I'm selling for less. What I don't like is when folks tell lies or connive or try to tug on my heartstrings to get a better deal for something they intend to turn into profit. You don't have to disclose everything about your business when making a purchase, but neither should you tell big fat lies.

If you know someone who will pay you $12 for a dozen fertile eggs and you see my ad offering them for $6, there's nothing wrong in buying them from me & turning around & reselling them for a profit. Unless you're a close friend or relative, and then you should tell me so we could split the profit. But if you call me and try to get me to reduce my price or sell you more than I should by telling me some big story designed to garner my sympathy then you're a cheat & a jerk & a crook. IMHO. There are others who would admire you for doing that, and others who would be tempted to act like that towards others in their next transaction. Not me.
