I've recently (past couple of months) been getting fewer eggs but a couple of larger ones, and the last couple of weeks really large, and this week 2 bullet shaped so tall I can't close the carton top! Then yesterday I got 6 eggs - been getting 1 - 5 with an average of 3 daily- and one was TINY. All last year I just had good average size eggs, all more or less the same size. I have 7 pullets but they are only 14 weeks old - the pinkest face is a Cuckoo Maron, but the others are absolutely pale face and none of them show interest in the rooster (nor he to them) so I have a hard time thinking it's a pullet egg. The laying hens are all Wyandottes, 4 are 1 1/2 years old and 5 are 2 1/2 years. The largest eggs this week are nearly 2 1/2 oz and that little one is a hair under 3/4 oz. Is it possible for a hen to lay regular size eggs for 6 mos to a year then lay a tiny one?
