Egg size! RIR.........

Will the egg size get larger when my 10 hens start laying more eggs? Right now they are really small! I was hoping that when I bought them that they were gonna be like the large or jumbo eggs that the grocery stores sell.

Yes they will get bigger as they lay more.

yep they get bigger.. mine did the same thing.. i didnt notice a change, its not like there is a day that they will all the soden lay large eggs, it like gradualy gets bigger, cant relly tell with the naked eye. eventually u will look back at a poto and be like WHOA! that eggs tiny compared to this one.. LOL

Ok! Thats GOOD! I was starting to think that I had bought the wrong breed of chicken and had to look for a another one. Thanx!

Give them about a month or so and you will say"Man,those are big eggs. When did that happen?" They get even bigger after they're a year old. My marans start out laying a large egg. That's one of the things i like about them.
