Egg started to hatch and stopped

We are hatching Duccles and an egg laid on 2-17 was put on lockdown. On Saturday it starts to pip then by Sunday it has gotten almost all the way around the egg shell and it hasn’t done much today- could it be dead? How long should I leave it in the incubator or what should I keep an eye out for? I think the egg does move occasionally should I just leave it in?

Oh definitely help that baby! If I have a chick trying to zip that gets stuck, I will help it within an hour. They almost never stop in the middle of zipping unless they are in trouble. Hope your baby is okay. Just gently continue around the zip line, and pull off the top part of the egg. If the chick is still alive, place it back in the incubator, still inside the bottom half of the egg, and let it hatch the rest of the way on its own. It will probably be quite weak after being stuck for so long.

All the yellow visible in the pic makes me wonder if the yolk got ruptured or something. At any rate, try to give it a hand and see if there is anything that can be done to save the baby!

My dad has helped her out and she’s alive!

Update! We have helped her out and she pushed out of the egg and we have her in there drying and will move her once she’s dried!
