How long can eggs be safely stored (maintained at low temps in the fridge)?

I keep mine on the counter so I can cook with them and boil them. This has been asked before and I want to say over six weeks, and I think there was a mother earth news study that had them for four months, but I have been working in the sun all day and I am not sure at all. Go up to the search function and try searching for 'mother earth and egg storage' and see what you get.

Thank you so much - the last thing I want is to share too-old eggs w/friends & family who already think I'm nuts for having the ladies. Glad to hear you are enjoying the sunshine = we'll all get there eventually!

The longest I've personally kept eggs in the fridge was four months. They were watery, grade B by then, but still edible.

Mother Earth News published a study concerning egg storage and they got six months of fridge storage.
