egg stuck!

hi! we noticed today that our hen has an egg stuck inside her. any suggestions?

Place her in some warm water, I fill a small storage tub with warm (not hot but not cold) water and place some epsom salt in it (regular salt will also do) place her inside and allow her to soak for around 15 minutes in a warm environment. You can also massage the abdomen. Most chickens like baths, but mine tend to freak out at first. Just hold her down and she should slowly start to chill. Hope she passes the egg okay! Poor girl.

How is she doing? Has she passed the egg yet? It has been quite a few hours, so I am not going to give any tips. I am afraid she may get a prolapse.

Did she expel the egg?

I wouldn't soak her if she's still looks like that. The egg is visible. I would first try getting some oil or kyjelly between the tissue and egg and see if it will come on out.

hi everyone! she did end up getting it out and we wiped her bottom clean. she went back to normal right away! thank you all!

When we went back to the coop to get her again, she freaked out and jumped, the egg popped out but it broke. We were ok with that since she went back to normal right away!
