I found two eggs tonight, side by side, they both had small almost square holes in them and they had been completely emptied. I've never seen this before, what does this? They were in a raised nest in a small dog house that sits on tip of a water trough that has been turned on it's side and also has straw in it. Nothing in the lower nest area was disturbed.

Thats what I was thinking! a half inch square sounds like it could be about the size of a chicken beak... and basically drank it up...

I thought about a chicken but in my experiences with my own birds they don't just drink the egg they eat it shell and all. I really don't think it is one of the chickens, but I may have some other bird around that did it. I'll be off for a week for Thanksgiving, maybe I can catch it in the act. It struck me as odd that it would be the upper nest that is harder to access than the lower nests.

Wow,,, add the missing words and letters and it sounds much better!
