EGG TEST

today i picked up a egg which was under a broody hen of 17 days .........when i cracked it THE SOUND WAS LIKE A BALL HIT TO BULB ABD THE BURSTED......i got frightened.......then i saw there was blood there was something whitish and the liquid wad like gray colour ........the smell was like.....an old rusted animal ....I WANT TO KNOW THAT WAS THAT EGG WAS DEVELOPING OR NOT?????

I'm a bit confused. Why were you cracking open broody incubated eggs at 17 days ?
If you want to see if something is developing?? You can do that without killing what is inside by candling it instead.

That egg was no longer developing. It was rotten.
