So I have a 1602 hova-bator incubator and added a 1611 egg turner will that cause the temp to rise in the incubator?

It might cause a small rise in the temp due to the heat generated from the motor. I always had the turner in my LG so I don't have a definite answer for you.

The 1602 with the turner will get too hot sometimes. On mine, i had to remove the turner and use use the 1602 as a hatcher.

OH heck now....I ordered another 1602 as a hatcher...so what I did was ........I opened the bator and left the lid off a few moments to lower the internal incubator temp and then I lowered the thermostat so hopefully that helps but I also added a fan on my 1602 did yours have a fan?

mrsfoote,
yes mine had a fan, worked ok as a hatcher after removing the turner. I have the turner in it now bating guail eggs. watching it close, seems to be ok. would not use it if i had quail trays in the other baters.

the motor does get a little hot, but shouldn't over heat the bator, that's what the thermostat is for. never over heated my LG

rebel yell,
my 1602 did, I disconnected the heater and let the fan run. temp with the turner running went to 104+

Well I was able to fix the problem took the top off for 5 mins after adjusting the thermostat so when it kicked on it wouldn't bring the temp up too hot and have got it at a constant 99.1
