Egg under roost??????

I had a hen lay a egg under the roost. The other hens that are laying are using boxes. Any ideas????

If she is a young hen she may have been caught by surprise and laid the egg. I had one or two do that at first. They have eventually started using the nest boxes.

I've had that happen a few times now, once on the floor and broken, and twice by their roosts.
