maybe, but it seems like they would prefer the contents.

I wouldn't worry. Pullets often take a while to get in the hang of laying, along with other chooks. Just keep an eye out for any more.

They free range and get lots of snacks.

I would offer some Oyster Shells.
Between the snacks and free ranging she may not eat enough layers feed.
I would cut back on the snacks.

There could have been some sort of skin, but it is all gone now so I can't tell.

She may have eaten it. GC
