How many female turkey for a male turkey

I try to keep at least 4 to 5 hens for one tom. Others have reported successful breedings with 10 hens for one tom. It really does depend on the tom as I had a tom that refused to mate with two of my new hens last year until near the end of the breeding season.

Having too few hens per tom can lead to severe wear and tear on the hens due to over breeding.
