eggbound hen

earlier today,we discovered one of our hens had been eggbound. we never knew she was and she didnt feature any symptoms. right now she has her egg out,but it's covered by a layer of skin and the egg cant be released. we have her in a tub of warm water now and we aren't sure what we can do.

i've searched around and i didn't find anything about this,so i'm coming here for some help pretty quickly.

I've never had this experience, but could you try to find an opening in the vent where you could reposition the egg? Is she able to pass any droppings? Here are a couple of links to read:
