I've recently candled the three fertile eggs in my coop to see how far along they were (I had no time period between when the hen started being broody because she lays on both fertile and infertile eggs all the time). I could see the feet fully formed and I was wondering how much longer it would be until they hatched? My chickens are at the farm at my school and since its summer its very difficult to be down there since the school is usually locked. Will the chicks be okay if they're with their mother in the coop for a few hours to a day? There are four other chickens including one rooster and a slightly violent bantam hen. That's my only fear since the mother is the smallest of my tiny flock (she's a serama).
