Eggs and Egg Shells

Our chicken's egg shells are so thin that they almost break or do break when I collect them or the hens sit on them. Can anyone tell me what we can do to correct this, we are giving them cracked corn, laying mash, grit, and oyster shells. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How old are your hens?

Oyster shells is the right way to go. Is laying mash the same as layer feed? Basic Layena seems to work really well.

You can also sneak some calcuim in by giving them yogurt or whey.

I believe they are about 3 or 4 years old. We inherited them from my sister when she moved from Florida last year. She had no where to put them when she got here with them so we took them because we live in the country. There is only 3 of them and we just recently got 2 roosters, but only one is with them the other is just a pet that thinks he is one of my collies. His best friend is my oldest collie. He goes everywhere in the yard with him. I love it. Yes the layer mash is the same as layer feed.
