Eggs Burst

Had two eggs burst in the incubator today (okay, crack and ooze is a better description). They have only been incubating three days. Does this just happen every once in a while, or is this indicative of a problem?

i had that happened in my last batch and it smelled really bad but all the eggs that were fertile did hatch

That is pretty early for that to happen.
Were they shipped eggs?

I have now learned to candle all shipped eggs before setting them to check for cracks. So far from doing that no more weeping eggs....

My incubator is staying nice and clean now.

Nope, not shipped. I guess the the quail could have played soccer with them and cracked them, but i did check them. I swear they have a league going some days.

I have not bothered to check mine from my birds either....So far good but I might start checking now....

One just expects home eggs to all be great....
